Word of the Day:  Impossible
By: Keith T. Nolen

Is there anything that our God cannot do?  Believe it or not, the answer is YES!  And it is a resounding yes.  Every preacher in the pulpit will argue this but they are the ones that are contradicting themselves.  The one thing that is impossible for our God to do is lie.

Everything that the Lord has ever told us, whether speaking directly to us or through the Word, it has come to pass.  If the Lord tells you that He will sustain you, believe it.  If He tells you that He will provide, expect it.  If the Lord tells you that He will protect you, stand fast and walk with no fear because His rod and His staff will protect you.

People say there is strength in numbers and there is some truth to that.  But when you have no choice but to face a dire circumstance alone, like dying on a cross and bearing the sins of the world so that your fellow man can have direct access to pray to your Father, now that’s strength.  Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Light.  You must accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior before you are allowed access to the Kingdom.
To reach the pinnacles of praise without Jesus, now that’s impossible.

Word of the Day:  Talents
By: Keith T. Nolen

We all have them.  Some have a lot, some have a few and some only have one.  If our talents are highly advanced then we take no shame in bragging about them.  Whatever your talent may be, use it for all that you can but do not neglect your responsibility to give back to the Lord.  He is the one that gave you your talent in the first place.

It took a good friend of mine to remind me of one of my talents:  writing.  The Lord blessed me with it at a young age and for a long time that is all that I did.  Then, I let life catch up to me; family, friends, peer pressure.  I used every excuse known to man to run away from my gift.  It has been nearly 15 years since I have been running.  The Lord only knows how strong of a vessel I might have been for Him in that time.

But I shall run no longer.  I will be all that the Lord wants me to be and I will use my talent for writing to uplift His holy name and His kingdom.  Your talents are a gift; they were given to you to share with the world.  Holding back and running from your gift demeans our God.  If you can sing, sing for the Lord.  If you can dance, dance for the Lord.  If you are an athlete, put your physical abilities on display and let the world know the Lord blessed you with the talent to do what you do.

You may be at a point in your life where you don’t even know what your talent is.  Don’t feel like you have been passed over by the Lord.  Your talent will reveal itself in time.  And maybe, just maybe, your talent has not been revealed to you because you haven’t accepted the Lord as your Savior.

One thing to keep in mind, accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior requires no talent at all.

Word of the Day:  Technology
By: Keith T. Nolen

Technology?  What could this brother be talking about that could lead him down the road to pull out a topic like technology regarding the Lord?  Truth of the matter is, everything we do centers around it.  Take for instance, texting.  This is probably the number one form of communication today.  Think what it could do with a group of believers or non-believers.
Take this analogy:  you are playing PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360; you make it to the last level.  Just when you think that you are about to conquer the final obstacle or challenge, you lose.  And that was your last life.  If you don’t curse, there is a very high chance that you will say, “Lord have mercy”.  Or as we say down south, Lord hammercy.

As young Christians trying to make it through each day and elude the wiles of the Devil, wouldn’t it be cool if God would text you?  Text you when you were messing up or when you needed to focus.  When you put yourself in positions that you don’t need to be, wouldn’t it be cool to just say, “Father please text me and remind me of all that I have to lose before I make a huge mistake”.

We are using technology as a crutch and fail to realize that God has already texted us.  You won’t hear your favorite ring tone hit your Blackberry, iPhone or Droid X with this text.  Everything that is required for you to fulfill God’s will is texted in the living word, aka, the Holy Bible.  You can find all kinds of cool texts there.  Take for instance, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whom so ever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”, John 3:16; or “Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her”,  Ephesians 5:25; and one of my favorite texts, “I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins”, Isaiah 43:25.  That’s deep.  No matter how messed up I am, as long as I am covered by the blood of Jesus, my sins will not only be forgiven but forgotten.

Everything you need is there.  Everything that you could pray for already has an answer for it.  God knows what you need before you ask.  And before you ask it, you need to understand the difference between wants and needs.  If you want it and God knows you don’t need it, you will not receive it, no matter how much you pray for it.  But if you need it, rest assured that God will provide it.
